Measured on site, in writing.
Four kinds of fencing, all permitted, located and set properly.
Wood fences fail at the posts, not the panels. Set too shallow or in dirt rather than concrete, they lean within two seasons and no amount of good lumber saves them. Depth is set for the soil and the design wind load, which in Florida is not a formality.
Measured on site, in writing.
Pulled where the municipality requires.
811 called before any digging.
Posts in concrete, then boards.
Appearance, containment or security.
Height and gauge to suit the job.
Before posts go anywhere.
Set, aligned and gates hung true.
Aluminium suits Florida because it does not rot and does not rust like steel, and chain link remains the cheapest way to enclose a large area. Both need the same post discipline as wood — the material changes the look, not the groundwork.
Vinyl never needs painting, which is the real appeal, and it can crack under impact and discolour with years of sun. We will say that rather than selling it as maintenance-free, and we will tell you when wood or aluminium is the better choice for your situation.
Where vinyl suits and where it does not.
Panel grade and post reinforcement.
Then dig.
Levelled, with gates adjusted.
What the code actually specifies.
To the Act, not to preference.
Gates self-closing and self-latching.
Attended, with sign-off.
A pool barrier is not an ordinary fence. Height, gap dimensions, self-closing and self-latching gates and latch position are all specified by Florida law, and an inspector will check each one. We build to those requirements, and we will refuse a design that fails them however much it is preferred.
